This is an exempt, experienced-level position that directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, safety and other production-related activities. This position is also responsible for maintaining Healthcare Laundry Accreditation requirements and serves as the MPS continuous improvement coordinator.
Job Responsibilities
Direct assigned plant production activities and personnel
Supervise production staff of approximately 50 members including department supervisors
Plant safety; take appropriate actions to maintain safety of members and OSHA compliance
Member recruitment, development and awareness; retain members
Finished product quality
Cross training of members
Production scheduling
Fill route service requirements; loads complete the night before
Vary production staffing and hours in line with seasonal and other changes in the loan on the plant
Inspection and maintenance of equipment
Prepare and maintain production budgets and strategic plans
Housekeeping of facility and grounds
Security of building and grounds
Regulatory compliance
Work with other department managers to evaluate new products by working closely and collaborating with sales and service department managers, existing product performance and usage, and efforts to grow the business
Typical work week of 45-55 hours
Other duties as assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral • Special attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to manage responsibilities and team members with multiple tasks at the same time • Understanding of plant processes, machine functions, and operations flow to meet production needs • Self-motivated and structured • Excellent conflict resolution skills • Ability to focus on quality and handle quality issues • Bachelor's degree in related field or five years' experience in plant or operations management • Computer literacy with good accounting principle understanding • Experience working with a diverse group of individuals • Strong experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook • Experience developing and adhering to a budget and capital expenditures
