Job Title: Production Manager Department: Operations Reports To: Sr. Manager Production
SUMMARY: The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing, sustaining and improving the production process, reducing costs wherever possible and ensuring that products are produced on time and meet customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance Write and deliver annual performance reviews and recommend merit increases Motivate and develop team members Enforces company policies and departmental procedures and audits area of responsibility for compliance Identify and communicate problems or potential problems early to minimize the impact to production Plan & prepare for changes in production demand Provide recommendations to ensure headcount is at appropriate levels Ensure all operations are completed according to written manufacturing procedures, drawings and established workmanship standards Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for job related functions, processes, and/or recommend method efficiencies and process improvements to improve product quality Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays Consults with engineering personnel regarding modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards Compile, store, interpret and present data to all levels Make data-based recommendations to improve the business Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on KPIs and the operating condition of departments Support the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes Ensure that the company achieves and maintains customer satisfaction (Deliveries on time, quality products, and effective communication.) Maintains time and production records Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations Ensure departments operate within established budget Familiar with lean manufacturing and experience implementing lean initiatives Ability to identify root causes of problems with the use of problem-solving tolls and recommend or initiate corrective and preventative actions. Ensures cross-training matrix is maintained at all times Other duties as assigned MUST LOVE GUNS!
This role is 100% onsite. Employee will be expected to be on site. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining and terminating employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years supervisory experience Experience with basic production technologies, soldering, electro-optical-mechanical assembly and test, ESD control, instrument calibration coordination, tooling and equipment maintenance, ERP systems and Quality systems Experience with military standards such as MIL-STD-461F, MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-882Dis a plus.
A proven track record launching products in a structured environment as a team member or leader with new product development
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, and customers. Ability to communicate clearly in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None.
COMPUTER SKILLS Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook, Project and PowerPoint. Experience with SysPro or equivalent.
