Production Manager

Location: Upstate, NY
Salary: $120,000+ DOE
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Friday as needed

A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and highly organized Production Manager to oversee all production operations from the moment a sales order is received through final delivery. This individual will serve as the bridge between the sales office and the production floor, ensuring orders are completed accurately, on time, and to customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of all sales orders once they are released to production.
  • Review incoming orders and determine production timelines based on inventory, materials, and capacity.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate purchasing or replenishment when necessary.
  • Manage production schedules to ensure orders are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding production status, timelines, and delivery expectations.
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure finished products are shipped according to schedule.
  • Track all active orders and proactively address delays, shortages, or production issues.
  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 10–12 production employees.
  • Ensure workflow efficiency, quality standards, and productivity goals are consistently met.
  • Work closely with ownership and sales teams to prioritize orders and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and production output.

Qualifications

  • Previous production, manufacturing, operations, or plant management experience required.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing production teams.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and customer-facing professionalism.
  • Experience with inventory management, scheduling, and production planning.
  • Hands-on manager who can take ownership and drive results.
