Production Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager with a strong background in metal fabrication to lead daily production operations, drive process improvements, and ensure high-quality output across our manufacturing floor. This role requires a hands-on leader who understands fabrication processes, supports team development, and champions operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fabricators, machine operators, welders, and production staff.
• Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Fabrication Expertise

• Provide technical guidance on fabrication processes including cutting, forming, welding, machining, and assembly.
• Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and support complex builds or custom projects.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of fabrication equipment such as CNC machines, press brakes, welders, and laser/plasma cutters.

Quality & Process Improvement

• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications and industry standards.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing, 5S, and process optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering on manufacturability, design changes, and production planning.

Planning & Coordination

• Work closely with supply chain, engineering, and project management to align production schedules with customer requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, fabricated components, and consumables.
• Support budgeting, cost control, and forecasting for labor, materials, and equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in a fabrication-focused environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment, and materials.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage workflow, and drive operational improvements.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Certifications in welding, fabrication, or lean methodologies.
• Background in custom fabrication or low-to-medium volume production environments.
