Client Overview:
Our client is a well-established and growing fashion apparel organization known for innovative, high-quality products and customer-focused design. They are currently looking to add a Production Manager to join their team. The company operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where cross-functional partnership, product excellence, and timely execution are critical to seasonal success.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$50/hr - $54/hr

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their Intimates team. This role will oversee the production process from product development through final delivery, partnering closely with Design, Merchandising, Raw Materials, vendors, factories, and other cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong fashion production expertise, a deep understanding of intimates, and the ability to manage seasonal calendars, sourcing, costing, factory capacity, vendor relationships, and production challenges.

Responsibilities of the Production Manager:
  • Manage product development and production activities against seasonal timelines and key milestones.
  • Partner with Design and Raw Materials teams on fabrics, trims, materials, samples, and production-ready products.
  • Provide production expertise throughout the development process and help identify solutions when products or materials do not meet cost or production requirements.
  • Execute seasonal sourcing and production strategies in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Manage factory allocations, capacity, production planning, and booking calendars.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, factories, agents, and other external partners.
  • Communicate production challenges, costing concerns, factory capacity, allocations, and timelines across internal and external teams.
  • Own and monitor seasonal T&A calendars to ensure development and production milestones remain on schedule.
  • Identify production risks early and proactively develop solutions to minimize delays and protect delivery dates.
  • Lead seasonal costing activities and communicate financial objectives and IMU targets to relevant stakeholders.
  • Review style-level costs, identify cost variances, and partner with cross-functional teams and vendors to develop solutions.
  • Monitor production quality, cost, delivery, and adherence to established processes.
  • Participate in milestone meetings with Design, Production, Merchandising, Raw Materials, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Resolve escalated production and product issues and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Support production processes, systems, tools, and additional production initiatives as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Production Manager:
  • 5+ years of relevant fashion production experience.
  • Intimates experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of apparel product development, sourcing, costing, production, and vendor management.
  • Experience managing seasonal production calendars, factory capacity, allocations, and timelines.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors, factories, agents, and external production partners.
  • Strong knowledge of apparel costing and financial objectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to proactively identify production risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Design, Merchandising, Raw Materials, Production, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid NYC environment, with 3 - 4 days in the office and 1 - 2 days remote based on business needs.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Production Manager:
  • Experience with a major apparel, fashion, intimates, lingerie, or lifestyle brand.
  • Experience managing complex seasonal production calendars and high-volume product assortments.
  • Familiarity with PLM, ERP, or other apparel production technology systems.
  • Experience mentoring, training, or supporting junior production team members.
  • Strong understanding of apparel manufacturing, materials, factory capabilities, and production processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve production efficiency, cost, quality, and delivery.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Business, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
