    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for managing Paint Plant production related to the manufacturing of finished good paint products. They must ensure that all processes & materials meet the requirements for safety, quality, cost and schedule. These responsibilities include managing the cost center budgets, supervising personnel directly and indirectly, setting goals consistent with the overall business plan and reporting progress, and managing some of the day to day activities in the plant.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for all safety compliance of the department.
    • Work with the first line leaders to resolve the various production issues that arise on a daily basis, including setting priorities, implementing policies and procedures, coaching, and procuring the necessary resources to ensure a timely supply of finished goods. This would apply to all shifts.    
    • Establish a vision and develop a strategic plan for each department, and continuously evaluate the goals and objectives to ensure progress is being made towards improving the safety, quality, and productivity of the operation.
    • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, engineering and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
    • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
    • Apply and utilize asset effectiveness for process optimization
    • Create monthly reporting of progress and redeploying resources in the face of changing priorities or lack of progress.
    • Monitor the cost center budgets and developing ways to stay within budget.
    • Meet with managers and individuals of various other departments to work on improvement initiatives and solve ongoing issues.
    • Lead groups to resolve issues as well as participating on cross functional teams working on various business initiatives.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned
    • Actively demonstrates and promotes safety and a safe work environment and holds their team accountable to drive a best in industry safety culture.

    SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Direct oversight of first line supervisors and indirect management of all paint manufacturing personnel.

     

    POSITION QUALIFICATION:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of Manufacturing/Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience with applicable EPA and OSHA regulations including PSM
    • Experience with reactive chemistry and control systems
    • Experience with SAP preferred
    • Strong computer skills with emphasis on data analysis
    • Experience with VPC
    • Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
    • Ability to meet strict deadlines using time management and delegation skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to wear a respirator/all necessary PPE – including being clean shaven for respirator use.
    • Ability to work with isocyanate.
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates a commitment to teamwork.
    • Maintains a strong attention to detail.
    • Highly developed computer skills in Excel, Word and other office programs.
    • Ability to identify and define a problem, collects and analyzes data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work any shift hours and overtime in order to meet the needs of the business.

    SALARY RANGE:

    $89,985.14 to $149,403.00 USD annually. Compensation for this role is negotiable based on experience and skill set.
