Production Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Skokie, IL

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM

Salary: $100,000 - $115,000/year

About the Position

We are looking for a hands-on Production Manager to oversee production at a small manufacturing facility.

This is a floor-focused leadership role — not a desk job.

The Plant Manager will manage approximately 20 employees, oversee daily production, improve processes and workflows, and make sure production goals and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable jumping in and working alongside the production team.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee daily production and coordinate schedules and priorities.

• Manage and support a team of approximately 20 employees.

• Identify production bottlenecks and find ways to improve workflow and efficiency.

• Develop and implement standard processes and SOPs to make production more consistent and efficient.

• Monitor production, quality, safety, and productivity.

• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues and help reduce downtime.

• Work directly on the production floor with employees and equipment.

• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, rework, downtime, and costs.

• Establish production metrics and processes to measure performance.

• Coach employees and hold the team accountable for quality, productivity, attendance, and safety.

• Help create a more organized, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operation.

What We’re Looking For

• Manufacturing or production management experience.

• Previous experience as a Plant Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working around production machinery.

• Experience improving manufacturing processes and eliminating bottlenecks.

• Experience managing production employees.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on management style.

• Someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and getting involved on the shop floor.

• Maintenance or mechanical experience is a strong plus.

• Bilingual Spanish/English is a strong plus
