POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Structural Production Manager

REPORTS TO: East Coast Structural Production Manager

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

PAY RANGE: $135,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually DOE

FT / PT STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Office, Shipyard(s) & Customer Facilities

SUMMARY

Responsible for production, coordination, quality control, workforce management, inspections and safety on designated structrural jobs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain service data such as time frames, quantities and specifications of work package and scheduled completion dates for multiple projects
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for meeting schedule dates and work plateaus.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates work activities to ensure production and quality of jobs meet specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects jobs and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Interprets company policies to supervisors/employees and enforces safety regulations.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Interact with shipyard management and their employees to ensure efficient and smooth procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Conduct Performance evaluations, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustments
  • Handles or assists with disciplinary and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to translate complex information into simple terms
  • Ability to do simple to complex math
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA standard items
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years in a shipyard production environment in US Navy repair or new construction shipyards preferred
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications preferred.
  • OSHA-10 (Company May Provide)

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Some work performed in an office environment
  • Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds (50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly)
  • Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • May be required to wear a respirator
  • Travel may be required
