POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Manager is responsible for production and the quality and paperwork related to it.

- Oversees all Shop Production including but not limited to material receiving & processing, fit/weld, blast & paint, loading, shipping, forklift, cranes, etc.
- Monitors activities and equipment to isolate and correct any work that is not within Code requirements.
- Understands all Quality Control procedures and principles as stated in the “New Employee Orientation Package” and the “Hillsdale Quality Policy Manual” and affirms the Company’s commitment to this program.
- Works with the Quality Control Manager to determine the best methods of repairing work found not to be meeting Code requirements.
- Assigns and monitors work in appointed areas to assure that quality work is performed in accordance with the fabrication schedule.
- Directs work assignments for all department production supervisors.
- Supervises the completion of the work according to the project schedules.
- Coordinates between Project Management and Shop Supervisors.
- Participates in Project meetings, including, but not limited to kick-off meetings, production meetings and closeout meetings.
- Travels to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
- Exhibits regular and reliable attendance in person as required by the Supervisor, Company guidelines, and/or project and office obligations.
Management Responsibilities
- Manages and directs supervisory and non-supervisory administrative or union employees and is responsible for the overall direction and management of these employees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Management, Engineering or Business and/or 1-3 years’ related experience and/or training; or Associates degree with 3-5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OSHA 30 hour within 1 month of hiring. CWI and/or NACE Level 1, 2, or 3 desired.
