Description
- Oversee daily production operations to achieve targets related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency
- Lead, develop, and manage production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Establish and prioritize manufacturing schedules based on customer demand, capacity, and operational constraints
- Monitor production metrics and performance data to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to optimize workflows and resource utilization
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as quality management systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured methodologies
- Develop long-term production strategies, including capital planning and process enhancements
- Manage staffing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations within the department
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure on-time delivery and operational alignment
Profile
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or production leadership roles
- Proven ability to lead teams in high-volume, fast-paced production environments
- Strong background in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Expertise in analyzing performance metrics and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with safety and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or similar frameworks)
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and develop future leaders
