Production Materials Logistics Technician

A day in this role

You arrive on time, gear up with the proper PPE (including knit, cotton, or blue plastic gloves where required), and walk the line. Your first task: set up the sauce pump equipment and stage both raw and dry ingredients so the production lines never run short. Throughout the shift, you track material usage, keep minimums where they need to be, and document everything accurately.

As cases come off the line, you verify the correct label and SKU, palletize to the Bill of Materials (BOM), fill out the pallet tag, place one tag on the pallet and keep the second copy. You secure every pallet with shrink wrap—four passes at waist height—then move it by pallet jack to the pickup area. If labels or ribbons need swapping, you jump in. Damaged pallets? You pull them from circulation and set them aside.

You keep your area clean and organized, follow company GMP’s, and alert the Line Lead any time you must step away. You continually scan the manufacturing line for operational or mechanical issues, take corrective action when you can, and promptly notify supervision or management when needed. You help out in other areas as demand shifts, maintain line speeds and standards, and safeguard product quality and consistency. Throughout, you uphold BRC Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9—because this job is responsible for food safety and legality.

Training and accountability

You’ll complete a structured training plan that explains how training occurs and sets clear exit criteria. Your knowledge will be confirmed through written, verbal, and/or hands-on demonstration to verify skill comprehension. The aim is simple: ensure every product meets company specifications, every time.

Core responsibilities

• Set up and verify sauce pump equipment.
• Supply raw and dry materials to keep production lines running; maintain minimums.
• Record and log all material usage with accurate weights and counts; return materials per food safety procedures.
• Follow company GMP’s; wear proper PPE (knit, cotton, or blue plastic gloves where applicable).
• Use only good wood pallets and avoid stepping on pallets.
• Confirm correct labels and SKUs are applied.
• Palletize cases according to the BOM; complete pallet tags (one on pallet, one copy retained).
• Shrink wrap each pallet four times at waist level; move finished pallets via pallet jack to pickup location.
• Assist with label and ribbon replacements.
• Remove broken/damaged pallets from circulation and stage them aside.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area; notify Line Lead whenever leaving the line.
• Comply with Production/Packaging procedures; inspect the line for operational/mechanical issues and take/communicate corrective actions.
• Support other areas as needed; maintain line speed and standards.
• Ensure product quality and consistency during processing.
• Uphold BRC Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9; protect food safety and legality.
• Perform other duties as assigned or volunteered.

Food safety and quality focus

• Immediately report any food safety or quality concerns to supervision and/or Quality Assurance.
• Escalate any risks or evidence of out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials to a designated manager for prompt resolution.

Qualifications

• Required: HS Diploma or GED; three (3) years of related experience/training or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish.
