Overview:

Position Summary:

The Production Mechanic II applies experience, knowledge and skill as well as implements and helps determine best practices and procedures to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs to mechanical production equipment.  The Production Mechanic II is also responsible for troubleshooting broad issues and for working with department leads and management to resolve larger, difficult issues.

 

The base hourly range for this role is currently $36.00/hr. to $40.00/hr. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.

Responsibilities:

 

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure optimal equipment performance by performing timely equipment preventative maintenance and related documentation according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain pneumatic and electrical driven robotic assembly machines.
  • Identify and correct production equipment problems/deficiencies quickly, minimizing production down time.
  • Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers.
  • Support related engineering and manufacturing activities.
  • Support installation, qualification and validation activities for new equipment and processes.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, controlled and efficient mechanical operating environment.
  • Ensure critical equipment problems are escalated to leads and management.
  • Maintain and improve technical knowledge and skill.
Qualifications:

 

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional technical schooling or certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience; previous experience in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Good understanding of assembly and packaging automation.
  • Ability to utilize standard tool room measuring instruments required.
  • Ability to follow electrical and mechanical schematics required.
  • Familiarity with Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 9000, and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards preferred. Previous practical electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting experience required.
