Job Details

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Production Manager will lead daily operations for a high-volume ID and OD pipe coating facility serving the OCTG and steel pipe industry; be responsible for driving production performance, safety, quality, throughput, equipment reliability, and workforce leadership across the operation.

We are seeking a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong experience in steel pipe, tube mill, tubular processing, coating operations, or related industrial manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong floor presence, operational discipline, mechanical/process troubleshooting ability, and experience leading fast-paced production teams in heavy industrial settings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead daily operations across pipe coating and tubular processing production lines
  • Oversee production activities across internal diameter (ID) and outer diameter (OD) coating operations
  • Ensure coating quality, throughput, yield, and operational efficiency across ID/OD coating lines
  • Drive production performance, on-time delivery, labor utilization, and equipment uptime
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including scrap, downtime, labor utilization, yield, and equipment uptime
  • Partner closely with maintenance and production teams to maximize operational reliability and production flow
  • Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, operators, and production personnel
  • Maintain strong safety, quality, and operational standards across the facility
  • Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational optimization initiatives
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, workflow priorities, and production planning activities
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to production and quality issues
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, engineering, and leadership teams

IDEAL BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within OCTG, steel pipe, tube mill, tubular processing, pipe coating, or related heavy industrial manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading high-volume manufacturing or production operations
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, throughput optimization, equipment reliability, and operational performance metrics
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong floor engagement and mechanical/process troubleshooting capability
  • Experience with QA/QC systems, NDT, API standards, or industrial inspection processes preferred
  • Background in pipe coating, industrial coatings, tubular manufacturing, or steel processing operations highly preferred
  • Experience driving operational improvements related to scrap reduction, efficiency, uptime, and labor productivity
  • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization experience strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills in fast-paced industrial environments
