Production Operations

Summary:

• Shift: 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime may be available or required according to business needs.
• Location: McPherson, KS

Responsibilities:

• Set up machines and prepare materials for jobs.
• Complete material requisitions accurately.
• Produce parts to quality standards using appropriate equipment.
• Enter time and labor reporting daily.
• Handle materials, tools, and equipment manually or with a jib crane.
• Layout, cut, and fit parts as required for welding.
• Fabricate new metal components in accordance with product data sheets.
• Solve problems and develop innovative solutions while maintaining safety and performance standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment to professional standards and keep the workstation clean and orderly.
• Coordinate workflow with team members and third-party agents.
• Maintain high quality standards as determined by quality and engineering standards.
• Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot problems daily, in addition to fabrication duties.
• Employ physical strength and endurance to complete all machining tasks.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Participate actively in team meetings and group discussions.
• Interface with engineering to communicate information accurately.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
• Adhere to Quality Management System Requirements.
• Follow and maintain 5S activities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a custom build shop preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to operate a computer to read and input data.
• Ability to operate hand tools and read measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret 3D prints/schematics to complete standard work.
• Ability to stand for approximately 10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Frequent standing and repetitive use of hands; occasional bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling required.
