Production Operations

Summary:

• Pay Rate: ***-***/hr depending on experience
• Duration: Full-time
• Work Mode: Onsite
• Training: 8am-4pm (Monday - Friday for 2 months)
• Shift: Once trained, move to 2:00pm - 10pm (Monday - Friday with some weekend OT if needed)

Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory and inventory control metrics in a 24/7 shop environment.
• Pull materials from the warehouse for shop use, ensuring correct issuance to locomotives.
• Manage stockouts and update estimated times of arrival for parts.
• Perform daily cycle counts to correct inventory inconsistencies.
• Forecast material needs and pull in necessary materials efficiently.
• Conduct quality control processes on shipments to meet company standards.
• Arrange LTL and Expedite shipments using the Ryder portal.
• Use software programs to order, receive, ship, and track materials.
• Read mechanical drawings to determine needed materials.
• Operate a forklift, including daily shift inspections.
• Compile reports on various inventory metrics.
• Process sales of materials and warranty claims.
• Restock warehouse and shop floor materials.
• Perform general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the warehouse.
• Answer requests from Circle of Service shops for additional materials.
• Record material transactions via appropriate systems.
• Assemble customer orders and assist with physical inventory counting.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or at least 2 years of recent relevant work history.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Experience in logistics or shipping/receiving environments.
• Experience operating forklifts and other shop equipment safely.
• High attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment with a flexible schedule.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
• Dependability, a positive attitude, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in inventory management and control.
• Familiarity with Oracle and other inventory software.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
