General Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of equipment used to blend, mix, package, and transport liquid or dry chemicals that comprise customer products.
This position ensures the production of high-quality products at the lowest possible cost while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and ISO requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up, start, and operate machinery while checking all controls for adherence to operating and safety procedures and ISO standards.
Weigh ingredients according to recipe specifications and load them into machinery, or ensure the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and load pre-blended materials into machinery.
Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues and escalate problems as appropriate.
Operate machinery to mix, extrude, discharge, or otherwise handle materials according to established operating procedures.
Visually and/or physically examine materials to ensure they conform to established quality standards.
Collect samples of materials and submit them to the laboratory for evaluation and instructions regarding any necessary batch adjustments.
Refer issues and problems to the Production Lead or Production/Shift Supervisor for appropriate disposition.
Perform all required machine cleaning and housekeeping activities.
Complete and maintain all required system inputs and transactions, ensuring data integrity.
Document completed work as required, including logs, data reports, procedures, and other production records.
Participate in training, retraining, and continuous improvement processes and initiatives.
Follow all safety policies, work rules, regulations, and established procedures.
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
