Job Opportunity: Production Operator (2nd Shift)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level, full-time role is essential for ensuring the quality and precision of plastic components. You will work in a dynamic cleanroom and molding environment, focusing on assembly, inspection, and packaging.
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay: $21.00 per hour.
- Shift: 2nd Shift.
- Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
- Status: Full-time, Hourly.
Job Summary
The plastic injection molding operator is primarily responsible for aiding with visual inspection, dimensional inspection, gate trimming, bagging, and packaging for plastic parts produced during production runs. You will ensure all products meet strict quality standards while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Responsible for plastic injection molding machine operation.
- Quality Control: Inspect products for quality and consistency using inspection and cutting tools.
- Assembly & Finishing: Assemble and build products quickly and correctly per the direction of work orders.
- Inventory & Documentation: Record daily production entries and complete accurate counts for packaging and assembly.
- Warehouse Support: Properly package merchandise to prevent damage during shipping and maintain a clean, organized warehouse.
- Cross-Training: Ability to cross-train in other departments such as shipping and receiving.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED required.
- Desired Skills: Ability to operate a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Mindset: Qualified individuals do not need all skills listed to be considered; a strong desire to learn any lacking skills will be taken into consideration.
- Attributes: Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
- Certifications: Ability to operate a forklift when trained and certified.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: Requires constant standing and frequent walking.
- Manual Dexterity: Requires constant repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers for the purpose of picking up items or data entry.
- Lifting/Moving: Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds and occasionally carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Communication: Requires constant talking and hearing to exchange ideas and instructions.
- Vision: Constant visual acuity (far and near), depth perception, and color vision are required.
Work Environment
- Setting: This position is constantly protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Conditions: Occasional exposure to oils, hazardous materials, or noise levels that may require shouting to be heard.
- Respiratory: Occasional exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, or gases.
