Job Title: Production Operator

Job Description

The Production Operator works as part of a collaborative team responsible for assembling complete products and components in a manufacturing environment. This role rotates through multiple tasks withinthe assembly process, follows established Standard Operating Procedures, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment by consistently following all safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Ensure compliance with the PedSafety Handbook, Bambee policies, and all applicable work rules.

  • Assemble all APS Group subassemblies and products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Complete all required training before operating any product, tool, or machine.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of small hand tools and apply knowledge of manufacturing production processes during daily tasks.

  • Verify that equipment and tooling calibrations and preventive maintenance (PMs) are current before use.

  • Follow cleanliness and 5S practices to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work area.

  • Identify opportunities to improve process flow and suggest changes that reduce wasted effort and time.

  • Perform and document quality checks as directed by management to ensure products meet specifications.

  • Inspect components and perform in-process quality checks with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Utilize computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, to enter data, complete forms, and support production documentation.

  • Participate as an active member of the production team and support team-based decision-making as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in production, assembly, or general manufacturing environments.

  • Ability to operate machines and production equipment safely and effectively.

  • Proficiency in using small hand tools in an assembly or production setting.

  • Understanding of basic manufacturing production processes and workflows.

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and written work instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail for performing and documenting quality checks and inspections.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours during shifts.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.

  • Ability to bend, twist, push, and pull weights of up to 50 pounds.

  • Commitment to following all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, use of safety locks, and wearing safety glasses as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in machine operation or general labor within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with general production and assembly work.

  • Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization and efficiency methodologies.

  • Comfort working as part of a rotating team where tasks and stations may vary.

  • Willingness to suggest process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to fumes, chemicals, and temperature changes. Production Operators stand for up to 10 hours per shift and regularly lift, bend, twist, push, and pull weights of up to 50 pounds. The position requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, use of safety locks, and wearing safety glasses and other personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. The workplace follows cleanliness and 5S practices to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe production area.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
