Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Flexible work schedule (including overtime, 12-hour shifts)
Ability to work in industrial conditions:
Extreme temperatures
Noise (hearing protection provided)
Dust, fumes, and chemicals
Physical activities include:
Standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 40 lbs)
Climbing stairs/ladders
Operating machinery and possibly forklifts
Must wear required PPE at all times
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
Operate the unwind section to feed raw materials into the coating line
Ensure correct raw materials are used as per work orders
Align materials properly and maintain defect-free substrate flow
Monitor tension, splicing, and accumulator operations
Perform calculations for raw material usage (used/unused units)
Record operational data accurately using standard forms and codes
Identify and report product defects or non-conformance issues
Support Coater and Facer Backer Operators when required
Follow SOPs and maintain product quality standards
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to company safety standards (“Safer Together”) and plant regulations
Maintain a safe work environment through proper machine handling and procedures
Inspect equipment before and during shifts to ensure safe operation
Report safety concerns, equipment issues, accidents, or near-misses immediately
Follow Lock Tag Try (LOTO) procedures and safety protocols
Use PPE and comply with environmental and waste disposal regulations
Maintenance & TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
Participate in TPM activities (CILT, 5S, Autonomous Maintenance)
Assist in preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure optimal equipment condition
Identify improvement opportunities in processes and efficiency
Use problem-solving tools for continuous improvement
Maintain Daily Management (DM) and Step Boards
Quality Control
Monitor raw materials for defects before processing
Ensure all materials meet physical and appearance specifications
Maintain proper splicing procedures across substrates (glass, paper, mixed)
Use control tools to improve material efficiency and productivity
General Duties
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Support training and development of colleagues
Adapt to changing priorities and production requirements
Maintain regular attendance and follow chain of command
Perform additional duties as assigned
