Job Description

Role Overview
The Winder Operator is part of a crew operating two production lines in a fast-paced, continuous manufacturing environment. The role focuses on safely producing high-quality products and packaging while meeting customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Plant and Environmental Safety
    Follow the Client Safety Standard “Safer Together”
    Take personal ownership of workplace safety and hold team members accountable
    Report all accidents, near misses, or injuries immediately
    Participate in safety, quality, TPM, AM, and housekeeping programs
    Reduce environmental impact and follow waste disposal/recycling procedures
    Comply with all plant rules and safety regulations
    Perform workstation and equipment cleanup duties
    Communicate safety concerns and equipment abnormalities promptly
    Inspect vehicles and PIV equipment before and during shifts
  2. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
    Participate in TPM initiatives and activities (CILT, 5S)
    Actively engage in AM/Pillar teams
    Use TPM methods to understand and improve equipment
    Identify and participate in learning opportunities
    Apply Focused Improvement (FI) tools for problem-solving
    Work toward zero injuries, zero defects, zero losses
    Optimize equipment during preventive maintenance (PM) days
    Maintain DMS and AM team boards
  3. Quality Control & Operations
    Perform quality checks on winders, EDL, and conveyors
    Adjust control panels (speed, delays, timers)
    Provide QC information to plant employees
    Monitor and report material issues
    Communicate with coater-end and back-end operators
    Evaluate finished product weight and thickness
