Guardian Glass is seeking enthusiastic a and safety-driven Production Operator to join our team in Geneva, NY! In this role, you will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting equipment to enhance production efficiency and ensure the creation of high-quality glass that meets customer expectations.

Key responsibilities include effective communication across departments and with internal customers, maintaining a safe work environment by wearing proper PPE, practicing safe work habits, and promptly reporting any safety concerns. You will also follow daily run schedules, address quality issues, escalate unresolved concerns, and assist in tasks such as packing products and transitioning between duties as needed.

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as repetitive lifting of up to 35 pounds with twisting at waist level during product packing tasks. By contributing to a safe, efficient, and quality-focused production process, you will play a vital role in the success of our Geneva facility.

For this role, we anticipate paying $20.00 per hour.

Our Team

This role can work in any area of the facility, including float, coater, off-line cutting, tempering or warehouse departments. Our Production Operator-Material Handlers work a rotating 12-hr shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

What You Will Do

  • Follow and perform tasks according to the provided work instructions or Job Element Sheets (JES)
  • Follow 5S procedures and complete general housekeeping duties
  • Operate equipment and mechanized devices, running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving forklifts
  • Operate machines or processes through control mechanisms or physical activity, while inspecting equipment, materials, and products to identify and address errors, issues, or defects
  • Judge quality of product and adjust accordingly - following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Job Element Sheets (JES's)
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment utilized during daily manufacturing
  • Prepare final products for shipping and distribution
  • Perform quality checks, pack products, assist co-workers as needed, and transition seamlessly between tasks

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience using a computer and familiarity with technology

What Will Put You Ahead

  • One (1) or more years of experience working in a farming, manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
  • Six (6) months or more of machine operator experience
  • Experience using a tape measure, air nailer, hammer, bander, micrometers, and glass cutters
  • Experience operating an overhead crane
  • Experience operating a fork truck and/or motorized pallet jack
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance
