Production Operator I

Position SummaryProduction Operator I will report to the Plant Manager, or their designate, and is responsible for performing a variety of production tasks to assist with operations in production.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operating a forkliftReading and understanding work orders to verify product, packaging, and labeling requirementsCompleting paperwork / production documents accurately and as directedOperating and adjusting packaging machine as required to meet product requirementsIdentify calibration tags and ensure they are currentOperating a semi-automatic supersack fillerOperating an automated stretch wrap machineOperating hi-vac or powered vacuum and scrubber to maintain plant cleanlinessUnloading/loading trucks at direction of shipping/receiving supervisor or manufacturing managerSampling raw materials and finished goods under the direction of manufacturing manager or plant managerGeneral clean-up of production facility, which may include the lunchroom, washroom, as well as trash removalWork in compliance with company safety and operating proceduresGeneral shop duties insuring good housekeeping and the organization of the production areaPerforms other related duties as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to lift up to 50lbsExperience in a production/manufacturing settingCommunication skills and adaptability to work with co-workers and management efficiently
