Production Operator
Pay: $16.00-$17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 2:30 PM-1:00 AM
Location: Junction City, KS
Assignment Length: 3 months
Position Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for operating production equipment safely and efficiently while following standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety protocols. This role includes preparing products, maintaining equipment, assembling boxes, tracking tools and supplies, and supporting overall production operations under the direction of the Shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities
  • Follow established procedures, checklists, SOPs, and safety protocols.
  • Operate, set up, and adjust production equipment, including coaters, winding, and finishing equipment.
  • Inspect and prepare products according to SOPs.
  • Build boxes and package finished materials.
  • Thread and splice new material as needed.
  • Monitor equipment performance to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met.
  • Record production data and raw material usage both manually and electronically.
  • Clean and maintain machinery, printers, equipment, and work areas.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and production supplies.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to promote quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Identify and label hazardous waste for proper disposal.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, waste reduction, and lean manufacturing.
  • Assist with training and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Follow Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements and environmental best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, labels, and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to enter production data into internal systems.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate machinery and equipment.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
