Job Description
The Production Operator – Rolling, Caging & Finishing supports manufacturing operations by assembling, processing, sealing, and finishing spiral‑wound elements. You will operate rolling tables, conveyor ovens, caging and sealing equipment, and finishing tools while ensuring that all products meet strict safety, quality, and productivity standards in a fast‑paced, highly automated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Operate rolling tables, conveyor ovens, and related equipment to assemble spiral‑wound elements in accordance with manufacturing procedures.
Load and unload materials safely and efficiently to keep production flowing smoothly.
Apply adhesive glue lines and verify proper placement, coverage, and consistency to meet process specifications.
Inspect incoming and in‑process materials for defects, damage, or irregularities and take appropriate action when issues arise.
Record production data, inspection results, and process checks accurately in production documentation and logs.
Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S practices to maintain an organized and compliant work area.
Meet daily production and efficiency targets while maintaining high quality standards.
Operate caging and sealing equipment to apply required components to spiral‑wound elements.
Seal components to feed spacer and end‑seal glue lines following established standards.
Verify glue application for accuracy, consistency, and proper diameter according to manufacturing requirements.
Perform manual trimming to remove excess material and ensure serial numbers and other identifiers are clearly visible.
Conduct detailed visual inspections to identify damage, defects, or other quality issues and document findings.
Load and unload products from manufacturing transport equipment safely and efficiently.
Document serial numbers, defects, scrap, and rejects in production logs and systems.
Notify the Production Lead or Supervisor of recurring or increasing defect trends and support corrective actions.
Support rework, cleanup, and other production activities as needed to maintain workflow and product quality.
Perform finishing processes including FRP outerwrap application, trimming, and seal carrier attachment.
Conduct leak testing and dimensional inspections to verify product performance and compliance with specifications.
Inspect products for cosmetic and functional defects using calibrated measuring and inspection tools.
Repair minor defects and perform rework as required to meet quality and customer expectations.
Label finished products accurately and complete all required production documentation.
Assist with training and mentoring of other operators to support skills development and team performance.
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and lean manufacturing standards at all times.
Essential Skills
Minimum 6 months of previous experience in production, general warehouse, retail, or construction with a demonstrated record of good tenure and limited job changes.
High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
Experience with machine operation and basic equipment setup or adjustments in a production or industrial environment.
Hands‑on experience with rolling, caging, sealing, assembly, or finishing processes.
Ability to apply and verify adhesive glue lines accurately and consistently.
Proficiency in quality inspection and defect identification during production.
Experience with manual trimming and safe use of hand tools.
Ability to use measuring and calibrated tools, such as tape measures and other inspection instruments.
Basic math, measurement, and documentation skills to support production data entry and recordkeeping.
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions and adhere to quality standards.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a production environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as required by the job.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team‑based production environment.
Commitment to safety compliance in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Comfort working in a fast‑paced, automated production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
Familiarity with water testing, chemicals, and mixing processes is beneficial.
Experience in construction, inspection, or similar hands‑on roles is an advantage.
Experience with lean manufacturing concepts and 5S practices is preferred.
Comfort using a variety of hand tools, tape measures, and inspection equipment.
Strong attention to detail when performing inspections, documentation, and labeling.
Willingness to support continuous improvement activities and learn new processes.
Ability to assist in training other team members when needed.

Work Environment
The role is based on a fast‑paced production floor within a very clean and safety‑driven facility. Production is heavily automated, and you will work with manufacturing equipment, conveyor systems, caging and sealing tools, finishing tools, and a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments. The environment requires standing for most of the shift, as well as lifting, pushing, and performing repetitive tasks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times in accordance with safety policies. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a 40‑minute lunch and overtime as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oceanside, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.67 - $20.67/hr.
