Production Operator – 2nd Shift
Location: Junction City, KS 66441 Schedule: 2nd Shift | 2:45 PM – 1:15 AM Contract Duration: 05/04/2026 – 08/03/2026 Pay Rate: $17.00/hr + $0.75/hr shift differential Employment Type: W-2 | Contingent
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Production Operator to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for operating equipment, maintaining product quality, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all safety procedures, SOPs, and production guidelines
- Operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment to meet quality standards
- Set up and maintain machinery including coating, winding, and finishing equipment
- Inspect and prepare products in accordance with specifications
- Thread and splice materials and handle production materials as needed
- Package finished products and build boxes for shipment
- Track and record production data and material usage (manual and electronic systems)
- Clean and maintain equipment, printers, and work areas
- Ensure tools, materials, and supplies are available for production needs
- Communicate effectively with team members to maintain workflow and efficiency
- Identify and properly label hazardous materials for disposal
- Participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives (lean, waste reduction)
- Assist with training and support team development efforts
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Ability to operate machinery and use computer systems for data entry
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to read and follow SOPs, instructions, and labels
Work Environment / Additional Details
- 2nd shift schedule: 2:45 PM – 1:15 AM
- $0.75/hr shift differential applied to hours worked on 2nd shift
- 42 hours per week
- 30-minute lunch break
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
