Production Operator – 2nd Shift

Location: Orange, CT 06477
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Shift Differential: Additional $1.75 per hour once transitioned to 2nd shift
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire (90 Days)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Production Operators to join a growing manufacturing team specializing in precision metal components. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong manufacturing background who enjoy working in a hands-on environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

This position begins with training on 1st shift and transitions to a 2nd shift schedule upon successful completion of training.

Schedule

Training Schedule (2–4 Weeks)

  • 1st Shift: Monday – Friday

  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Regular Schedule

  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday

  • Hours: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

  • Lunch: 30 minutes

  • Shift Differential: Additional $1.75/hour

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform metal fabrication operations as directed by the supervisor.

  • Read and interpret process sheets, work instructions, and blueprints to complete assigned tasks accurately.

  • Set up and operate die forming and roll forming equipment.

  • Measure workpiece dimensions using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Inspect completed work to verify adherence to quality standards and blueprint requirements.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and fellow production team members to resolve production issues.

  • Follow established manufacturing procedures and safety protocols.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, process sheets, and work instructions.

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Preferred:

  • Experience with metal fabrication processes including:

    • Die forming

    • Roll forming

    • Welding

  • Experience with press operation and setup.

  • Experience working in a smaller manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with seal products or related sealing technologies is a plus.
