Job Title: Production Operator – Rubber Lining Manufacturing

Job Description

This role supports a rubber lining manufacturing facility by operating production equipment, following precise mixing schedules, and ensuring consistent product quality. You will work across multiple production lines, handle materials safely and efficiently, and help maintain a clean, orderly, and safety-focused work area. The position requires training on day shift before transitioning to night shift and offers clear opportunities for skill development and advancement.


Responsibilities


+ Operate and monitor various production lines, including grinders, mixers, mills, compounding equipment, calendars, and hoists to support rubber lining manufacturing for tanks and tankers.

+ Complete assigned production tasks accurately and on time while following established work instructions and standard operating procedures.

+ Follow the appropriate mixing schedules, recipes, and measurements to ensure consistent quality of rubber compounds.

+ Utilize scan guns to track materials moving in and out of the facility and maintain accurate inventory and production records.

+ Load silos with the correct ingredients and verify materials against production requirements.

+ Document any nonconformances and discarded parts clearly and accurately to support quality control and continuous improvement.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times, including regular housekeeping of equipment and surrounding workspaces.

+ Adhere to all applicable safety policies and procedures and actively contribute to a strong safety culture.

+ Train on the day shift to learn equipment, processes, and safety practices before transitioning to the night shift.

+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues, support smooth shift handoffs, and meet production goals.

+ Handle materials and products safely, including lifting up to 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.


Essential Skills


+ Ability to work safely at all times and strictly follow all safety policies and procedures.

+ Capability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.

+ Ability to read measurements accurately and perform basic calculations to follow mixing schedules and production specifications.

+ Willingness and ability to train on the day shift before moving to the night shift.

+ Comfort working with production equipment such as grinders, mixers, mills, compounding equipment, calendars, and hoists.

+ Ability to use scan guns or similar tools to track materials and support inventory accuracy.

+ Strong attention to detail for documenting nonconformances and discarded parts accurately.

+ Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance in a production environment.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Previous mixing or compounding experience is a plus but not required.

+ Previous forklift experience is a plus but not required.

+ Previous experience using an ERP system is a plus but not required.

+ Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial.

+ Comfort working in a non-climate controlled facility that can become warm in the summer, with good ventilation.

+ Willingness to learn multiple jobs and develop skills across different production lines to qualify for advancement opportunities.

Work Environment


The role is based in a smaller manufacturing facility with approximately 30 team members across both shifts and a small, close-knit night shift team. The environment is non-climate controlled and can become warm in the summer, but the facility is well-ventilated to help maintain comfortable working conditions. The atmosphere is described as laid back, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork. Production operations involve equipment such as grinders, mixers, mills, compounding equipment, calendars, hoists, silos, and scan guns for material tracking. Employees work structured shifts with all breaks paid, and they have access to water stations and popsicles, particularly on hotter days, to support comfort and hydration during work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seville, OH.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.53 - $24.03/hr.
