Production Operator - Slitter

Job Title: Production OperatorPosition Summary:We are seeking a motivated and reliable Production Operator to support daily operations in our steel coil processing facility. This role is critical to maintaining efficient production by assisting with equipment, setups, maintenance, and keeping work areas safe and organized.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the operation of production and coil processing machineryPerform slitter head setups as directed by lead operatorsSupport equipment maintenance and troubleshooting efforts as neededMaintain a clean and organized workspace by performing routine 5S activitiesAssist with coil handling and material flow during processingMove between production cells as necessary to support workload demandsFollow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and safe material handlingConduct basic quality checks and report any non-conformances to leadershipCommunicate effectively with operators, team leads, and maintenance personnel

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferredPrior experience in a steel or manufacturing environment is a plusMechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine setup and operationAbility to follow instructions and work both independently and with a teamComfortable working in a physically demanding, industrial setting

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Exposure to heavy machinery, steel materials, noise, and temperature variationsFrequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching

Must be able to traverse the distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.Use of PPE (steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection, etc.) is required
