Production Operator
– Sterling Heights, Michigan
IMMEDIATE HIRE - 90 day Contract-to-Hire positions
Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour Available Shifts : 3rd Shift - 9:45pm - 6:00am Sunday-Thursday, weekends and OT mandatory as scheduled - 3 positions available
A ProductionOperator is responsible for operating machinery, loading/unloading parts, and assembling automotive components (e.g. interior systems such as instrument panels, door panels, etc.) according to standardized work instructions and safety protocols. Key duties include performing quality inspections using gauges, meeting production targets, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
*Position could require you to work any position within the facility.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Operator:
- PRODUCTION EXECUTION: Operate manufacturing equipment and assemble, fasten, and fit components according to established SOPs
- QUALITY CONTROL: Perform in-process checks using hand-held, bend, or final gauges to ensure products meet quality standards
- SAFETY & COMPLIANCE: Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, including wearing proper PPE and complying with EMS procedures
- OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY: Maintain production speeds, troubleshooting minor equipment issues, and perform routine maintenance or tool changes
- DOCUMENTATION: Record production data, report issues to team leaders, and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S)
Requirements for the Production Operator:
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- EXPERIENCE: Previous manufacturing or production experience is often preferred
- SKILLS: Ability to read and follow work instructions, good manual dexterity, and basic troubleshooting skills
- PHYSICAL ABILITY: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
Work Environment of the Production Operator:
- Automotive manufacturing plant (assembly line)
- Shifts may include mandatory overtime and weekends
