Production Packer

Location: Jackson, MI 49203
Job Type: Contract (4/15/2026 – 7/15/2026)
Schedule: 2-2-3 Shift Pattern (12-hour shifts, every other weekend)

  • Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (3rd Shift)
  • Hours: ~80.5 hours per pay period

Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
  • Shift Differential: +$1.00/hr for 3rd shift

Position Summary

We are seeking Production Packers to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for packing finished products, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring safe and efficient production line operations. Candidates must be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks in a production setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Pack finished products according to specifications and production requirements
  • Assist machine operators with line setup, including stringing production lines
  • Assemble, glue, label, and prepare boxes for packaging
  • Cut packing straps and secure finished products onto skids
  • Visually inspect products for defects (color, quality, etc.) and report issues
  • Monitor materials such as glue supplies and restock as needed
  • Load boxed products onto pallets and prepare for warehouse transport
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production line (housekeeping)
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
  • Assist in training new team members as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, production, or warehouse experience preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work extended shifts (8–12+ hours) and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs without assistance
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
  • Repetitive motion including gripping, pulling, and handling materials
  • Ability to safely use tools such as a hacksaw

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility environment (vinyl siding production)
  • Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and chemical odors
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Additional Details

  • Report to Production Shift Leader
  • No travel required
  • Must comply with all safety and operational guidelines
