Position Overview

We are seeking Production Packers to support a fast-paced vinyl siding manufacturing operation in Jackson, MI.

In this role, you will work as part of the production team to inspect, pack, label, and prepare finished siding and accessory products for shipment. This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires prolonged standing, physical activity, attention to quality, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Pack finished siding and accessory products according to production requirements.

• Assist machine operators with production line setup, including stringing the line.

• Visually inspect siding panels for color variations, defects, or other quality issues.

• Report product defects or production problems to the Operator or Area Lead.

• Assemble and glue packing boxes.

• Cut packing straps to the appropriate length.

• Monitor hot-glue levels and replenish supplies as needed.

• Label and number finished-product boxes.

• Load completed siding boxes onto skids.

• Strap skids for transportation to the warehouse.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.

• Follow all established safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures.

• Assist with training other packers as needed.

• Perform additional production duties as assigned.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Safely lift and move objects weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequently push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, grip, and perform repetitive movements.

• Use basic hand tools, including a hacksaw.

• Work 8–12+ hour shifts as required.

• Work in a manufacturing environment that may be noisy and dusty.

• Work around heat and manufacturing-related odors.

• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Follow all plant safety requirements and procedures.
