Production Packer
Position Summary
The Production Packer is responsible for safely operating packaging equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining compliance with food safety and manufacturing standards. This role plays a critical part in achieving production targets while upholding quality, safety, and efficiency across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up packaging equipment, including conducting pre-operational inspections to ensure readiness.
- Operate and continuously monitor equipment to ensure optimal performance throughout production runs.
- Immediately stop equipment and report any malfunctions, quality concerns, food safety risks, GMP violations, or process deviations.
- Inspect finished goods and packaging to verify compliance with quality and specification standards.
- Perform and accurately document quality control tests (e.g., particle size, color, flavor, bulk density).
- Make necessary equipment adjustments to maintain production standards and record all changes or maintenance performed.
- Replenish raw materials as needed and ensure proper handling, tracking, and return of unused materials with full traceability.
- Perform thorough cleaning, sanitizing, disassembly, and reassembly of equipment following established procedures.
- Complete and maintain sanitation records, including environmental swab documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and support smooth transitions across shifts.
- Contribute to meeting production goals, performance targets, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Provide support in other areas of the facility as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing or processing equipment.
- Ability to perform product inspections and execute quality control testing procedures.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
- Ability to accurately maintain production, quality, and sanitation records.
- Dependable with a strong commitment to attendance and punctuality.
- Team-oriented with effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexible and willing to work across multiple areas of the plant as required.
