Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planner 2 to support its Tooling Department in El Segundo, California. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating manufacturing operations, preparing production documentation, and ensuring materials and products are processed according to engineering specifications and production schedules.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with engineering drawings, aerospace specifications, production planning processes, and manufacturing documentation in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate fabrication, assembly, installation, and manufacturing operations for assigned products and tooling activities.
- Review and interpret blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and engineering releases to develop production plans.
- Prepare and maintain shop work orders for material processing and manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate with production schedulers to ensure work is completed according to specifications and delivery requirements.
- Determine tooling requirements and provide recommendations for tooling design and planning.
- Monitor production progress and maintain schedules, reports, and related manufacturing records.
- Support communication between engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to resolve planning issues.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards and documentation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of production planning, manufacturing planning, scheduling, or related experience.
- Experience working with aerospace specifications and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Familiarity with tooling, fabrication, assembly, and production workflows.
- Knowledge of manufacturing planning and scheduling processes.
