Job Summary:

The Production Planner creates, modifies, and manages production schedules at our corporate manufacturing facility to ensure orders are completed on time and on budget.  You will interface with outside sales and operations departments to determine product lead times, prepare manufacturing schedules for kits and finished goods, and mitigate material shortages.

Essential Job Duties:

•  Evaluate customer purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
• Monitor and adjust schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
• Interface with the sales organization to establish lead times and correct order entry.
• Estimate labor required for production and recommend changes to management.
• Address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production.
• Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
• Evaluate production performance and recommend improvements.
• Drive changes to production schedules to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Create, maintain, and report relevant KPIs.
• Interface with Production, Supply Chain, and Quality departments to resolve inventory discrepancies and establish pick schedules.
• Coordinate with different departments such as sales, marketing, and logistics to plan and prioritize production needs.
• Establish written SOPs and standard work such as order entry, kitting, and material shortage review.

Additional Duties:

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic preferred).
• 5+ years’ experience as a production planner.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Physical Demands:

• Long periods at computer/desk.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs frequently.
• Ability to be in and around heavy machinery, working on the shop floor occasionally.

• $27.00 to $35.00 per hour
