About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our manufacturing team in Hayward, CA. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient utilization of resources, on-time customer deliveries, and alignment with production demands. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, quality, shipping, and sales teams to optimize workflow, improve efficiency, and proactively resolve production challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented planner who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a strong understanding of production control and supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the flow and expediting of materials, parts, and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Analyze job orders, production specifications, inventory levels, machine capacity, and labor availability to develop efficient production schedules.
  • Create and maintain production plans based on customer demand, sales forecasts, and inventory requirements.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust plans to address material shortages, capacity constraints, or changing priorities.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to resolve scheduling conflicts and manufacturing issues.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve production planning processes and workflow efficiency.
  • Prepare production status reports and communicate schedule updates to key stakeholders.
  • Partner with Quality, Shipping, Purchasing, and Sales teams to improve lead times and achieve on-time delivery goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental, and quality management system policies and procedures.
  • Participate in required company training programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of production planning or related manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with MRP II systems.
  • Strong understanding of production control, manufacturing operations, and supply chain management principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), including implementation experience, is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven ability to improve production planning processes and operational efficiency.
