Production Planner

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Production Planner to join our team in Milpitas, CA. Reporting to the Master Scheduler, this role is responsible for production scheduling, material readiness, work order management, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations to meet customer demand.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, has strong SAP experience, and excels at cross-functional coordination.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer purchase orders and maintain order backlog
  • Manage production schedules and ensure material readiness ("clear to build")
  • Review documentation and tooling for production readiness
  • Expedite open purchase orders in partnership with procurement
  • Oversee and manage all phases of internal work orders
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, quality, program management)
  • Participate in customer meetings to align on production and delivery plans
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Generate reports and provide status updates on production and materials
  • Support ISO-compliant Quality Management Systems
  • Utilize SAP for planning, scheduling, and reporting

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in production planning or production control, preferably within a contract manufacturing or EMS environment
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels
  • Understanding of electronic manufacturing services (EMS) and NPI processes
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, schedules, and reports
