We’re looking for a Production Planner to join our Longhini Sausage team—someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys turning complexity into clear, actionable plans.

What You’ll Do

As a key link between departments, you’ll ensure production runs smoothly, efficiently, and on time.

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Build and manage daily/weekly production schedules
  • Optimize sequencing to reduce downtime and changeovers
  • Adjust plans in real-time based on plant conditions

Demand & Inventory Alignment

  • Translate forecasts into actionable production plans
  • Monitor inventory to avoid shortages or excess
  • Maintain appropriate safety stock levels

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Sales, Quality, and Maintenance
  • Communicate priorities and updates to plant leadership

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify ways to improve efficiency, throughput, and reduce waste
  • Analyze data to optimize labor and line utilization
  • Support ERP/MRP system accuracy and improvements

Reporting & Insights

  • Track key metrics like schedule adherence and service levels
  • Maintain accurate data and provide actionable insights

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
  • 2+ years of production planning or supply chain experience (manufacturing required; food preferred)
  • Strong ERP/MRP knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills (analysis, pivot tables, forecasting)

Preferred:

  • Experience in USDA or SQF-certified environments
  • Familiarity with perishable products
  • APICS/CPIM certification

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexibility required)
  • On-site at Longhini Sausage – New Haven, CT
  • Includes time on the production floor (refrigerated environment)

  • Orders are delivered on-time and in-full (OTIF)
  • Inventory is optimized with minimal waste
  • Strong collaboration across departments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on a computer and walk production floors
  • Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Follow GMP, food safety, and PPE standards
