Flowserve is seeking a hands-on Production Planner to lead daily operations within our repair and manufacturing facility. This position is ideal for a shop-floor leader who understands the complete repair process from incoming inspection through disassembly, machining, assembly, testing, and final shipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery while serving as the primary leader for technicians, machinists, and repair personnel. This individual should be comfortable working directly on the shop floor, removing operational bottlenecks, coordinating resources, and ensuring repair work progresses efficiently through each stage of production.
This is not a desk-bound planning role-we are seeking a leader who is deeply familiar with repair manufacturing processes and enjoys being actively engaged with daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily repair and manufacturing operations.
Lead shop floor personnel including machinists, assemblers, technicians, inspectors, and support staff.
Monitor workflow and production priorities to ensure customer commitments and delivery schedules are met.
Drive efficiency through effective labor planning, resource allocation, and capacity management.
Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, material shortages, and operational issues.
Partner closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards.
Review work orders, repair scopes, production schedules, and job status to maintain workflow execution.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
Monitor KPIs including on-time delivery, labor utilization, cycle time, and shop efficiency.
Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions related to quality or production issues.
Assist with inventory management, physical inventory counts, and material control activities.
Provide coaching, training, and performance management for shop personnel.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in manufacturing, repair operations, machine shop, or industrial service environments.
2+ years of supervisory, lead, or management experience in a production or repair facility.
Strong understanding of repair manufacturing processes, including disassembly, inspection, machining, assembly, testing, and final quality verification.
Experience managing workflow in a high-mix, low-volume repair environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and repair documentation.
Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SysPro experience preferred).
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent manufacturing or repair leadership experience will be considered.
Preferred Experience
Industrial equipment repair experience (pumps, valves, seals, rotating equipment, or similar products).
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
Capacity planning and production scheduling knowledge.
Inventory control and material management experience.
Experience coordinating cross-functional resources to meet customer delivery commitments.
