McElroy Manufacturing is seeking a Production Planner to support the planning and execution of manufacturing operations. This position works across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Engineering, Sales, Quality, and other business functions to ensure production plans are executable and aligned with customer demand, material availability, capacity, inventory objectives, and operational priorities. What You'll Do - Plan, monitor, and support execution of production schedules for assigned parts, work centers, product families, or value streams.
- Monitor material availability, capacity, job status, routings, and planning signals to identify risks to the production plan.
- Review MRP messages, exception reports, and other planning-system signals and take appropriate action.
- Release, reschedule, prioritize, and coordinate production work based on current demand and operational conditions.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, and other teams to resolve shortages, capacity constraints, sequencing conflicts, and other issues affecting production.
- Evaluate production load against available capacity and identify potential constraints before they impact customer or operational commitments.
- Respond to changes in demand, material availability, non-conformances, capacity, and other operational disruptions while maintaining overall schedule stability.
- Maintain accurate planning data, production orders, routings, parameters, and other information within Infor XA and related planning systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve production flow, planning accuracy, inventory performance, and schedule adherence.
- Communicate production priorities, risks, changes, and impacts clearly across the organization.
- Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities related to production planning and manufacturing performance.
What We're Looking For Candidates should have a combination of education and/or experience related to manufacturing, production planning, production control, inventory control, purchasing, warehousing, or similar operations. Strong candidates will also demonstrate: - Ability to organize and manage multiple time-sensitive priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, inventory, and capacity.
- Ability to work effectively across departments and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using manufacturing ERP/MRP or production planning systems.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard business applications.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends and constraints, and make sound planning decisions.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining production-plan stability.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate system data.
Preferred: Infor XA experience, APICS/CPIM or similar manufacturing certification, experience with customer-driven demand or Kanban systems, and previous project or continuous-improvement experience.
