Why this role matters

Help us turn aerospace designs into repeatable, efficient, and compliant production. You’ll be the technical hub for projects—owning methods, instructions, tooling, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

  • Translate drawings/specs into manufacturing plans that meet APQP/AQP standards.
  • Author and maintain Visual Work Instructions (VWI) and Work Combination Sheets (WCS); apply operation time standards.
  • Design and optimize equipment/tooling plans and cellular manufacturing layouts; remove waste and hit cost objectives.
  • Originate new manufacturing and tooling concepts; coordinate and support tooling design for manufacturing/assembly.
  • Verify processes meet customer and internal requirements; ensure manufacturability of detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies.
  • Support planning document releases and ensure engineering changes are documented and implemented.
  • Lead or contribute to a Production Support Team; conduct Root Cause and Preventive Actions for nonconformances.
  • Drive cost-reduction ideas; participate in multi-disciplinary initiatives and prepare reports on improvement opportunities.
  • Assist initial manufacturing cycles for NPIs; follow up on process effectiveness after launch.
  • Review production drawings for technical content; recommend credible solutions for product, tooling, and processes.
  • Provide data to Estimating for customer quotes.
  • Act as liaison between Senior Aerospace SSP manufacturing and customer cognizant engineering.
  • Partner with suppliers to develop processes and resolve supplier issues.
  • Perform, document, and validate machining, forming, stamping, heat treating, and chemical processing for Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and O1/D2 tooling steels.

How we operate

  • Work under minimal supervision while helping plan and carry out manufacturing policies and procedures.
  • Your Manufacturing Manager sets focus areas based on your strengths; responsibilities are reviewed at least annually or with org changes.

What you bring

  • BS in Mechanical (or related) Engineering with 3+ years of engineering experience (aerospace preferred) OR MS with 2+ years in aerospace.
  • Comfort in fast-paced manufacturing; knowledge of sheet metal processes (welding, forming, NDT), GD&T, and aerospace materials preferred.
  • Communication: excellent written/spoken English; able to create policies/procedures and present to large groups.
  • Reasoning: follow detailed instructions; solve problems with many concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Math: compute averages, summations, standard deviations, statistical trends, proportions, and percentages.
  • Other: strong problem-solving; collaborative and independent; knowledge of aircraft ECS ducting a plus; forming/welding/machining/heat-treating familiarity; basic NDT and GD&T; understanding of MRP/ERP requirements and order generation logic.

EAR/ITAR Compliance:

Access to our facility (and, therefore, employment) is restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/ or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, U.S. refugees, asylees or temporary residents under amnesty provisions [as defined in 8 USC 1324b(a)(3)] and properly licensed foreign persons. Applicants receiving a conditional offer of employment will be required to provide information to determine whether they are subject to these regulations and, if so, to assess their country of chargeability for export control purposes.
