Job Title: Production/Repair Operator
Location: Orlando, FL 
Duration: 6+ months
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
Onsite
1st shift: Regular Schedule: Monday –Friday, 7: 00 AM –3: 30 PM (40 hours per week). Must be flexible for OT (early starts/late finishes).
 
Position Summary
The Production/Repair Operator is responsible for advanced fabrication, assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, and testing of cable & harness assemblies, electromechanical subassemblies, placards, and related components for In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity products. This role supports schedule, design, quality, and FAA requirements with elevated proficiency and reduced supervision.
 
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Reads, interprets, and applies engineering drawings, technical specifications, schematics, and work instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Fabricates, inspects, and tests cable & harness assemblies, including more complex multi-branch configurations.
  • Performs intermediate troubleshooting of production issues, wiring errors, incorrect terminations, continuity faults, and assembly defects.
  • Programs and inspects labels/placards using labeling equipment;performs basic maintenance on machines.
  • Performs and documents preventative maintenance and calibration checks on assigned tools and equipment.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities, including 5S, quality containment, and root cause identification.
  • Mentors Level 1 assemblers on basic tasks and correct workmanship practices.
  • Performs additional duties such as material handling, part kitting, and supporting Florida locations using company vehicles.
  • Performs advanced testing using HIPOT, continuity, multi-meters, VSWR testing, torque tools, automated test equipment, and documentation systems.
 
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language
  • High School Diploma/GED required;technical coursework preferred.
 
Ability to pass or maintain IPC-A-620A certification (Required).
  • 4 years of related experience in cable/harness or electromechanical assembly.
  • 2+ years of SAP experience. 
  • 3+ years of inventory control or shipping & receiving experience. 
  • Strong proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jacks as required
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IPC workmanship standards.
  • Intermediate proficiency with crimping, soldering, coax tooling, stripping, and measurement tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to perform tasks with minimal supervision and high accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the imperial of U.S. Customary system of measurement.
