    Position Summary:


    Incumbent will perform one of the following functions as their main responsibility:


    Safely perform timely repair and teardown non-conforming products to meet established quality standards.


    Position Responsibilities:


    Teardown:


    Perform teardown on non-conforming products.


    Perform repairs of non-conforming products and reintroduction of product to assembly line


    Support Engineering in analysis of non-conforming products and warranty returns.


    Perform repairs of customer direct vendor damaged product


    Prepare axles (beam and drive) for customer service requirements


    Operate equipment and material handling equipment (overhead cranes, lift assist, etc.) safely and effectively.


    Operate pneumatic tools, hand tools, presses, etc. safely and effectively


    Diagnose failure mode and depending on reason, report findings to assembly, supplier quality, or engineering team.


    Accurately record failure mode and related details such as part #s and serial #s.


    Accurately document scrap components and report through SAP scanning process.


    Support and perform detailed quality investigations (measurement/visual inspections/root case analysis) on rejects.


    Perform in process evaluation/checks (poke yoke) and keep records of performed tasks.


    Perform Containment of defective products, while cleaning and inspecting reusable components for reuse or returning them to assembly.


    Properly disposes of unsalvageable components based on disposition guides and metal type


    Perform preventive maintenance and maintain TPM records daily. Master equipment as necessary.


    Assist the team in training new operators.


    Maintain housekeeping practices in accordance with 5S standards.


    Participate in continuous improvement efforts (ZFPS) and provide feedback.


    Understand and comply with ISO 9001, TS 16949, and ISO 14001 requirements.


    Perform special projects as requested and related tasks as needed.


    Perform proper material identification through Special and Non-Conforming Material Handling Process.


    Support New and Engineering Change Product Launches


    Perform pallet cleaning and documents activity in controlled documentation applications.


    Understanding of Control Plans, FMEAs, and scrap impact to production


    Essential Skills and Experience:


    High School Diploma or GED


    Understanding of Critical Characteristics operations.


    Ability to define component characteristics (i.e.: machine surface, spline, threads, nick and bump)


    2+ years of related experience.


    Basic knowledge of mathematical calculations.


    Demonstrated problem solving skills and abilities.


    Ability to read and follow Standard Work Instructions, Quality Notifications, Non-Conforming Material Processes


    Ability to support Team Leader Role (Line and operation functionality)


    Mechanical skills and aptitude.


    Ability to effectively communicate in all forms (written, oral) and understand work instructions in English


    Ability to write reports/summaries and accurately enter data in all systems


    Preferred Skills and Experience:


    Working knowledge of Lean concepts.


    Level 4 proficiency on all ZF assembly rotational jobs


    Knowledge of ISO 9001, TS16949 and ISO14001 standards and application


    Knowledge of basic quality tools such as hand gages, including micrometers, calipers, etc.


    Familiarity with, and ability to use MS Office Suite.


    Basic SAP Knowledge.


    Knowledge of Control Plans, PFEMA, and Process Quality Audits.


    Ability to read and evaluate dimensional reports.


    LOTO (Lock out/Tag out training)


    Experience operating PIV’s (Powered Industrial Vehicle)


    Basic Knowledge of Digital Documentation applications.

The associate must occasionally lift and/or move 35 - 50 pounds (i.e. manually transporting parts/axles, and/or pushing/pulling carts to designated areas) Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.


    Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the associate is exposed to a plant atmosphere with a combination of office and manufacturing floor exposure. Will be exposed to Gear Lube (oil), parts and equipment cleaning solutions, etc.
