Purpose of the JobThe Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient utilization of Production resources while meeting customer demand, inventory targets, and delivery commitments. This position collaborates closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Project Management teams to balance capacity and production priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, deep manufacturing planning knowledge, and the ability to drive schedule adherence in a fast-paced environment.This role will be based in our office 10900 Kenwood Road in Cincinnati OH 5 days a week. Standard hours are M-F 7:30-3:30pm EST, with mandatory Saturday shifts during peak season.Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer PO dates, production yields, product and material due dates, and available capacity.Coordinate production planning activities to ensure efficient workflow and optimal resource utilization.Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, equipment availability, labor constraints, or material shortages.Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely availability of product and material.Analyze production capacity, lead times, and bottlenecks to improve operational performance.Partner with production leadership to prioritize production orders and resolve scheduling conflicts.Track schedule performance metrics, including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, and production efficiency.Communicate schedule changes and production priorities to stakeholders across the business unit.Support Sales, Customer Service, and Operations Planning activities by providing production timelines and capacity information.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing lead times, improving throughput, and enhancing scheduling accuracy.Develop reports and dashboards to support operational decision-making.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.8-10 years of production scheduling, production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations experience.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, inventory management, and material requirements planning (MRP).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business requirements.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.Experience using KPIs and performance metrics to drive operational improvements.Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.Experience supporting Sales & Operations Planning processes preferred.Familiarity with scheduling and capacity planning tools preferred.
