ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:            

Use MRP to assure that inventories of stock items are maintained at reasonable levels and that orders for non-stock items are processed in a timely, effective manner.

Update safety stock, lot sizes, lead times in MRP to assure that stock levels will be appropriate.

Make decisions regarding work in process, and manufacturing lead times by utilizing MRP.

Manage all raw materials, purchase components, and outside processes to manufacture products.

Prepare reports and summaries on subjects related to scheduling.

Prepares special projects and studies related to scheduling and stock levels.

Responsible for cycle check scheduling and verification.

Coordinate all purchased part releases and deliveries through EDI transmissions.

Initiate and maintain supplier contact(s) for purchased parts and raw materials.

Conduct production meetings and adjust schedules accordingly.

Develop and implement launch build plans, coordinate and communicate program balance outs to production supply base.

Reviews inventory transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies on a daily basis.

Recognizes and advises on production capacity constraints and makes recommendations to resolve the issues.

Review customer releases as needed and make necessary adjustments

Performs other essential functions as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:  Four-year degree and four years of material control experience preferred.  Associates degree with acceptable experience may be considered.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Computer literate.  Experience with MS Excel, Word, AS 400, MRP, etc….

MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, listen, reach use hands and arms, and exert up to 25 pounds of force as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment.  Also requires up to 50% of time spent exposed to the production floor.  Hazards include loud noises from operating machinery, physical hazards from moving machines parts, and breathing of dust and fumes.
