SUMMARY

The Production Scheduler II provides professional materials planning and scheduling support to the organization including close coordination with Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing departments. Maintains and improves MRP system parameters and planning systems, generates and releases work orders, reschedules by Order Action reports, and maintains area capacity plans and product forecasts. Responsible for internal customer contact in all areas relating to availability of product as well as scheduling and capacity information. Tracks, monitors, and advises management on production plans and schedules in order to achieve planned production levels and to provide excellent customer service as well as meet company goals and objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain MRP or applicable scheduling systems: Handle work orders and capacity planning.
  • Coordinate material requirements: Communicate with internal customers.
  • Develop relationships: Maintain connections with internal and external customers, other Amphenol facilities, and Sales staff.
  • Ensure timely delivery: Monitor, track, and report on production planning processes.
  • Shortage prevention: Proactively address shortages impacting production and shipments.
  • Documentation accuracy: Review relevant documents for precision.
  • Inventory management: Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Daily tasks: Process RMAs, conduct forecasting, and monitor performance indicators.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company

 

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this role do not include supervising other employees; however, Production Scheduler positions offer opportunities for career advancement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field strongly preferred.
  • APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete first 3 modules of APICS certification program (or equivalent) within two years of employment is preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of progressive experience in planning and scheduling position(s) is desired. 
  • Experience with cable and electronic component planning preferred.
  • Excellent materials management skills including Planning and Scheduling techniques and methodologies, General Manufacturing knowledge, Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), general knowledge of Engineering Change processes, Inventory Control, Transactional Management, and critical thinking and problem-solving capability.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete the APICS certification program, or equivalent, within two years of employment is preferred.

 

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

 

JOB SKILLS 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access, preferred.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and SAP MM and PP module expertise are preferred
  • Possesses exceptional material management skills such as planning and scheduling techniques.
  • General manufacturing knowledge, materials requirement planning (MRP), inventory control, transactional management, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Keen attention to detail and can work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated a high degree of adaptability within an ever-changing and complex environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and an analytical background are desired.
  • Knowledge and expertise in various material replenishment systems such as kanban card, two bin, reorder point, and min-max.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement.
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.   • ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas
  • Hearing protection in specific locations
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas
