UNDERSTANDING

The production scheduler role contributes a critical function to the organization by generating, maintaining, and communicating multiple simultaneous production schedules for various product groups and work centers. They work cross functionally with multiple levels of the supply chain network, operations, customer service, quality, and sales to ensure excellent service levels with minimal excess and optimized production environments.

The production scheduler is an analytical thinker with strong attention to detail, capable of operating independently over their assigned work centers and maintaining strong communication with relevant stakeholders to coordinate and execute the production plan. They drive efficiency and process improvement through data collection and analysis, identify risks to service level by evaluating production requirements against available resources, and work closely with sales and marketing to anticipate future demand changes and opportunities.
