Metals USA -- Gregor Technologies Division is seeking a Production Scheduler in Torrington, CT. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented aluminum/stainless steel distribution center servicing the defense, aerospace and fabrication industries.
The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining production schedules in order to ensure that all company goals are achieved and that deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
Maintains all production orders, open production orders and releases work to the shop.
Reviews daily work center capacities to update lead times.
Communicates with sales and production on order expediting/updated lead times.
Provides order visibility for overtime planning.
Reviews and completes production paperwork on all production orders for accuracy prior to sending to production.
Provides visibility/follow up on upcoming orders as well as orders already in production.
Maintains customer delivery dates in line with customer requirements, and master production schedule.
Develops understanding of customer base and customer requirements to ensure customers'' needs are met.
Reviews shipping schedules to ensure on time deliveries.
Develops working knowledge of all production equipment to better plan workloads.
Assists in achieving highest productivity and efficiency levels.
Monitors and maintains inventory functions to ensure accuracy.
Reviews and updates quality procedures as needed.
Assists in material inspections, quality audits and follow up on any corrective actions.
Implements and follows up of corrective action as needed.
Allocates inventory to ensure cost effective production, reduction of scrap loss, and on time deliveries.
Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.
Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a Production Scheduler; works directly with Production Manager to ensure efficient processing.
Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
Adheres to Reliance''s Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid OSHA Forklift certification (if assisting as a production worker)
Valid Overheard Crane Certification (if assisting as a production worker)
