Position Overview



The Production Service Associate supports aviation production operations by ensuring safe, compliant handling of materials, waste management, and adherence to quality and environmental standards. This role is critical in maintaining operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities



Safety, Compliance & Environmental Management




+ Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and South Carolina Hazardous Waste Management Regulations (SCHWMR).

+ Maintain and update hazardous waste profiles.

+ Identify hazardous material sources and properly manage disposal processes.

+ Complete all required documentation for hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.

+ Participate in facility inspections and audits.

+ Report all safety concerns, incidents, and opportunities for improvement promptly.


Production & Operations Support




+ Follow established work instructions, SOPs, and quality standards throughout production processes.

+ Operate and maintain department equipment (e.g., mixing equipment, scales) including cleaning and upkeep.

+ Monitor product quality and report any deviations to supervisors.

+ Maintain efficient inventory control practices in coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor and team.

+ Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.


Systems & Communication




+ Utilize internal systems and tools (including SAP) accurately and consistently.

+ Maintain effective communication within the assigned team and with cross-functional partners.

+ Complete required reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.


General Responsibilities




+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

+ Follow all company policies and procedures.

+ Demonstrate flexibility by supporting additional duties as needed to meet operational goals.


Qualifications



Education & Experience




+ High school diploma or GED (required).

+ Hazardous waste handling or disposal experience (preferred).

+ Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations in an aviation or manufacturing environment (preferred).

+ SAP experience (preferred).


Skills & Competencies




+ Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

+ Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

+ Ability to work independently and manage tasks within established guidelines.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

+ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.


Required Training




+ Must complete hazardous waste training within six (6) months of hire and annually thereafter, in accordance with SCHWMR regulations

.




Physical Requirements & Working Conditions




+ Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable laws.

+ Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

+ Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).

+ Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.

+ Must be able to wear a respirator and pass annual fit testing.

+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
