Production Shift Manager

Fridley, MN

12-hr Night Shift (2-2-3 schedule), 6pm-6:30am

Training on Day Shift Required


Position Overview

The Fridley Shift Manager leads a 12-hour night shift team, reporting to the Production Manager. This role drives safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations while embedding continuous improvement and operational discipline. Success is measured by consistent delivery of quality products, strong safety performance, and engaged team members.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and model safety-first behaviors to achieve zero-injury performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Coach teams in hazard recognition, 5S, and housekeeping standards
  • Drive operational performance to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
  • Develop and mentor shift employees through regular feedback and training
  • Use data and management systems to monitor and improve shift performance
  • Coordinate across shifts and functions to maintain workflow continuity
  • Support site and company strategies through disciplined execution


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience in shift-based operations
  • 1–3 years of people leadership experience
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook


Preferred Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Hands-on experience with continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, DMAIC)


Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.


The salary for this role is $80,000 to $87,000/yr based on experience.
