Description: Our client is currently seeking a Production Shift Supervisor

    Key Responsibilities

    Shift Operations & Production Execution

    ·         Lead and supervise all production activities during the assigned shift to meet daily production plans and customer delivery requirements.

    ·         Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently, while minimizing downtime, scrap, and rework.

    ·         Ensure that all labor hours are recorded against the production order and that the corresponding raw materials are properly loaded into it.

    ·         Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize productivity and throughput.

    ·         Monitor production KPIs (output, efficiency, scrap, downtime) and take immediate corrective actions when deviations occur.

    ·         Ensure accurate and timely production reporting, shift handovers, and documentation.

     

    Safety, Quality & Compliance

    ·         Keep a strong safety culture on the shop floor; enforce all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements.

    ·         Conduct daily safety talks, audits, and observations; address unsafe behaviors and conditions immediately.

    ·         Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

    ·         Enforce quality standards, work instructions, and inspection requirements to ensure products meet specifications.

    ·         Support quality investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

    Team Leadership & Workforce Management

    ·         Directly supervise production operators and support staff during the shift.

    ·         Assign tasks, manage attendance, approve timekeeping, and ensure adequate staffing levels.

    ·         Coach, train, and develop employees to improve skills, performance, and engagement.

    ·         Address performance issues, conduct corrective actions in accordance with company policies, and escalate employee relations matters as appropriate to HR and Plant Management.

    ·         Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

     

    Maintenance Coordination & Equipment Reliability

    ·         Coordinate with Maintenance to address equipment issues, breakdowns, and planned maintenance activities during the shift.

    ·         Ensure operators perform required autonomous maintenance and equipment checks.

    ·         Support preventive maintenance execution and proper equipment startup/shutdown procedures.

    ·         Escalate recurring issues and reliability concerns to the Plant Management and Maintenance leadership.

    Continuous Improvement & Standardization

    ·         Support Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives at the shift level.

    ·         Ensure standard operating procedures and work instructions are followed consistently.

    ·         Identify improvement opportunities related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost; propose and support implementation of solutions.

    ·         Participate in new product introductions, process changes, and training initiatives.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required

    ·         High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, or related field preferred).

    ·         3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with prior supervisory or team-lead experience.

    ·         Strong understanding of production processes, safety practices, and quality systems.

    ·         Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, industrial manufacturing environment.

    ·         Basic computer skills (ERP/MES systems, production reporting, Microsoft Office).

    Preferred

    ·         Experience in technical textiles, geosynthetics, industrial fabrics, or similar manufacturing operations.

    ·         Exposure to Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.

    ·         Experience working in multi-shift or 24/7 manufacturing operations.

    Physical Requirements

    ·         Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods.

    ·         Ability to lift 40 lbs. as required.

    ·         Willingness to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
